Exhibition of my original works on paper at Hotel Philips’ P.S. Speakeasy during the month of May.
From observation to imagination, David Terrill’s original works on paper emphasize the spontaneity of life with shades of allegory. Fearless mark-making is the backbone of David’s practice. Application of bold color through a variety of media; ink, watercolor, gouache, and pastel, to archival papers create these compelling and diverse images.
“Hidden from the long arm of Prohibition-era law, Kansas City’s speakeasies welcomed travelers and locals alike. An affectionate nod to the city’s glamorous, freewheeling nightlife in days gone by, P.S. is Hotel Phillips’ contemporary incarnation of the 1930s speakeasy.”
